This portrait was created in the summer of 2020 and is a gift towards my grandparents. My grandmother has been battling cancer since 2019, I knew that one day the cancer would get the best of her.
I remembered the memories of her, how she always kept me full whenever we saw each other, sang to me, and gave her fullest love for me, this is one of my favourite paintings, I painted a young version of my grandmother to cheer her during her battle of cancer.
Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away in 2021 as cancer got the best of her, and this painting is the one that I'll keep close to my heart, knowing that she's watching over my back somewhere better.
